This past weekend was the first round of Coachella which starts festival season- Lolla, Bonaroo, Summerfest and Memphis in May are just a few of the big-name music gathering that will be happening during the warm weather months. I love festival style because it is completely free spirited and insanely different from my everyday routine. Hippie skirts, mud boots, crowns of flowers and vintage all mesh together to create the distinctively un-distinctive festival look. For any of you lucky enough to be festing this season, I discovered the new it-accessory: Free People’s Festival Paint! Let this video inspire you:

All you need is water, some fine brushes and doodling creativity! You can either mist the paint with water or dip your brush in a glass. The Vargas by Royal line of brushes are perfect for getting your body paint on. I definitely recommend the Filbert or the Round which are both thin and can easily create beautiful patterns like shown in the video. Don’t be afraid to add a little bling to your designs too- sticky rhinestones can be found at any craft store and would look fabulous at the corners of your eyes, or dotting an armband you have painted on. This may be a little crazy for every day, but festivals are where your crazy inner hippie is supposed to shine, so get painting!
